A permanent magnet is a magnet that maintains its persistent magnetic properties for a long time after removal of the external magnetized force.
Types of permanent magnet materials
Permanent magnet materials include ferrite permanent magnets, rare earth permanent magnets (such as neodymium magnets, samarium cobalt magnets,).AlNiCo magnet. etc. Among them, neodymium magnet is widely used because of its excellent magnetic parameters and cost performance.

Ferrite magnets
A ferrite magnet is a sintered permanent magnet material that is mainly composed of barium and strontium ferro body.
Due to the abundance of raw materials and the relatively simple production process, ferrite magnets have a low cost, which makes them highly economical in many applications. Ferrite magnets occupy an important position in industrial and electronic technology, especially when they are cost-sensitive and the magnetic energy requirements are not particularly high.
Neodymium magnet
Neodymium magnet is composed of three elements, neodymium (Nd), iron (Fe), and boron (B). Neodymium magnets are known for their extremely high energy product (BHmax) and coercivity (Hcj). Neodymium magnet is a third-generation permanent magnet material, which is considered to be the best performance-to-price magnet so far because of its small size, light weight and strong magnetic properties.

SmCo magnets
Samarium cobalt magnets are mainly composed of samarium (Sm), cobalt (Co) and a small number of other elements, which are mainly divided into two types: SmCo5 and Sm2Co17.
As a second-generation rare earth permanent magnet, samarium cobalt has high magnetic energy product and coercivity, which is suitable for working in high-temperature environments, but its application is limited due to the high price of raw materials.
AlNiCo magnet
An AlNiCo magnet is a permanent magnet made of an alloy consisting of aluminum (Al), nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co), and a small amount of other elements such as iron and copper. Before the discovery of rare earth magnets, such as neodymium magnets, AlNiCo magnets were the strongest magnets in the world.
AlNiCo magnets are applied in specific applications due to their stable performance and corrosion resistance.
Applications of permanent magnets
Permanent magnets are widely used in audio products. electronics, wind generators, permanent magnet motors, automotive motors. magnetic levitation systems, magnetic bearings, magnetic separation systems, magnetic sensors, magnetic water purification systems, etc.
Energy-saving and environmental protection: The use of high-performance permanent magnets such as neodymium magnets can reduce the cost, reduce the volume and weight of the motor, and improve the efficiency of electrical-mechanical energy conversion, which is conducive to energy saving and carbon emissions.
